Elbert was very aware of the impression he made with his long hair, stetson and soft bow tie. His style was that of an “artist” and a “man of the land” and his wardrobe reflected this. But he could still “dress up properly” if the occasion demanded it. All those years as a business man at Larkin Soap made him equally comfortable in a suit. See some of his "looks" circa 1900 below.
